Aamir Khan recently expressed his eagerness to share the screen with his Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. He has now hinted at a special appearance in his upcoming film Happy Patel and debunked the rumours of Imran Khan making his combeck to Bollywood with this film.
Contrary to earlier speculations of Aamir relaunching his nephew Imran Khan in the film, reports from Bollywood Hungama suggest otherwise. Standup comedian Vir Das, who will also co-direct the quirky comedy, takes the lead role in Happy Patel.
Imran Khan Only Has A Cameo With Him, Reveals Aamir Khan
Aamir clarified, stating, “Vir Das is the lead in Happy Patel, not Imran. Imran is doing a two-day cameo in Happy Patel, like a number of us, me included.”
This cameo marks Aamir Khan’s return to the silver screen following his last venture in Laal Singh Chaddha. Imran Khan, despite making a brief appearance in Happy Patel, is not yet prepared for a full-fledged comeback to acting.
Regarding the directorship of Happy Patel, Aamir Khan disclosed, “Vir Das himself along with Kavi (Shastri) are directing as a team.” Interestingly, Aamir had previously launched Vir Das as a leading man in the Imran Khan starrer Delhi Belly back in 2011, directed by Abhinay Deo.
With this clarification, Aamir hopes to put an end to the ongoing speculation surrounding Happy Patel.
Imran Was Earlier Reported To Make His Comeback As Happy Patel
Earlier, reports from PeepingMoon stated that Imran Khan has locked in his comeback role as Happy Patel, a character tailor-made to showcase his talent for comedic timing and charm. The film, produced by Aamir Khan Productions, is already in full swing with shooting underway in the picturesque locales of Goa.
Talking about his work front, Imran Khan was last seen in the 2015 film Katti Batti. He was expected to make his acting return with a spy film that has now been shelved.
