Indian 2: Shankar-Kamal Haasan’s Film Trimmed By 20 Minutes After Largely Negative Reviews?

Indian 2 has been axed after harsh criticism from reviewers and the audiences. The fresh length is 160 minutes.

Director Shankar and Kamal Haasan‘s much-anticipated film, Indian 2, has undergone significant editing, cutting down its runtime by 20 minutes following a wave of critical feedback.

The decision to trim the film came swiftly after its release, as both critics and audiences expressed dissatisfaction with its lengthy duration and pacing issues.

Indian 2 Now Has A Runtime Of 160 Minutes

Initially clocking in at three hours and four minutes, Indian 2 now runs for a more concise 2 hours and 40 minutes in its revised form, which is now showing in theatres from today, July 14.

While an official confirmation is pending, reports suggest that this move aims to streamline the storytelling and enhance the overall viewing experience.

Indian 2 End Credit Teases Indian 3

Released nearly three decades after its predecessor, Indian 2 promised to continue the legacy of its iconic forerunner. Notably, the film also teased fans with a glimpse of Indian 3 in its closing credits, hinting at future developments in the franchise.

Despite a star-studded cast including Kamal Haasan, Siddharth, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Rakul Preet Singh, and others, Indian 2 failed to impress many. Many gave it 2 out of 5 stars. Criticisms ranged from narrative inconsistencies to dubbing choices that did not resonate well with Tamil-speaking audiences.

Produced by Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies, Indian 2 features music by Anirudh Ravichander and has been a topic of intense discussion within the film community since its release on July 12.
