Indian Police Force: REAL Reason Why Rohit Shetty’s Cop Show Starring Sidharth Malhotra, Vivek Oberoi, Shilpa Shetty Won’t Release on Diwali

Rohit Shetty, the hit machine of Bollywood, is all set to make his OTT debut with a cop-based show called Indian Police Force. The show, which stars Sidharth Malhotra, Shilpa Shetty Kundra and Vivek Oberoi in the lead roles, was supposed to release during the Diwali weekend this year. However, fans will have to wait a little longer to watch the action-packed series, as it has been postponed to December 8.

Real reason for delay of Rohit Shetty’s cop series

As per the earlier reports, “While the series is ready for its launch, Rohit Shetty and team Amazon Prime have taken a strategic move to delay the series from the Diwali weekend. It’s a decision taken in the best interest of the series, as the makers didn’t want to clash with the on-going cricket World Cup. The digital conversations around the Diwali period will revolve around two things – Cricket World Cup and Tiger 3 – and Amazon is clear on not being the third choice of audience,” a source told.

But now the latest media reports say that actual reason for the delay is not the clash with Tiger 3, as some reports suggested, but the pending VFX work. According to a source close to the production, Indian Police Force is mounted on a grand scale, with elaborate action sequences that require high-quality VFX. The source said, “Rohit Shetty and team Amazon Prime have taken a strategic move to delay the series from the Diwali weekend. It’s a decision taken in the best interest of the series, as the makers didn’t want to compete with the ongoing cricket World Cup and Tiger 3. The digital conversations around the Diwali period will revolve around two things – Cricket World Cup and Tiger 3 – and Amazon is clear on not being the third choice of audience.”

The source also revealed that Rohit Shetty is busy with his ambitious movie Singham Again, which features a star-studded cast of Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor and Tiger Shroff. The film is currently being shot in Hyderabad and will release on August 15, 2024. The source said, “For the next one month Rohit and his team are going to be in Hyderabad shooting for Singham Again and all the stars of the film will be flying in and out of the city to shoot their portions. Given the huge star cast of the film, this schedule is very crucial for Rohit Shetty as it would be very difficult for him to get the combination dates.”
