Interstellar Back In Cinemas Due To Public Demand Just One Month After Re Release; Dune: Part Two To Also Re-release On March 14 In IMAX

A lot of Bollywood films have re-released off late but when it comes to Hollywood, a handful of classics have had a re-run in cinemas. Last month, Interstellar re-released and received a rocking response.

However, it just had a one-week run. If you missed watching the cult film in cinemas, here’s a reason for you to rejoice. The film will be back on the big screen on March 14, that too in IMAX. Moreover, Warner Bros will also bring back Dune: Part Two on the same day in theatres.

As per reports in Bollywood Hungama, “Interstellar has a huge demand as it’s a film worth watching in theatres, that too IMAX. However, it re-released on February 7 and had to discontinued from February 14 to accommodate the new releases, Chhaava and Captain America: Brand New World. Both these films got a release in IMAX as well.”

The source continued, “Many were aware that Interstellar had just a one week run. Hence, it held very well in the weekdays, collecting Rs. 2 crore plus. Yet, there was a section of moviegoers who missed out the film and they expressed their views online that a one week run for a such a high-demand film was not done. Keeping this feedback in mind, Warner Bros has decided to bring back the film in IMAX.”

The source further said, “Warner Bros has also decided to get re-released Dune: Part Two. It also has a following and moreover, it is back in the news after winning the Best Sound and Best Visual Effects awards at the 97thAcademy Awards. Both Dune: Part Two and Interstellar will share shows in IMAX screens across the country.”

The source maintained, “Yet again, it’s a one week release as Snow White will take up the IMAX screens from March 21.”

Interstellar In Re – Release Surpasses Pushpa 2 In IMAX Despite Lower Ticket Prices, Crosses 20 Crore In Re Run And 70 Crore Lifetime

Christopher Nolan’s sci-fi classic Interstellar returned to Indian theatres, and fans showed their excitement. The film had limited re-release starting February 7 to 13th February.

When Interstellar was first released in 2014, it didn’t make a huge impact at the Indian box office but received critical praise. Over time, it gained a dedicated fanbase and is now seen as one of the best films of its kind.

The re-release was originally planned for December 2024 but was delayed due to the release of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2, which took over most screens, especially IMAX. Now, Interstellar returned without competition and screened in both standard and IMAX formats.

Film crossed 10.50 crore in IMAX in one week of re – run. This was more than what Pushpa 2 collected in Imax with higher ticket price. Film crossed 20 crore in one week of re – run overall thus taking film’s overall total to 70 crore.
