Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who rose to fame with his blockbuster film ‘Arjun Reddy’ and remake ‘Kabir Singh,’ is currently enjoying the blockbuster success of his next venture ‘Animal,’ starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, and Tripti Dimri. The film, which is a dark crime thriller, was released on December 1, 2023 and has already crossed 500-Cr mark at domestic box office.
However, Vanga has already announced his next project, titled ‘Spirit,’ which will feature Prabhas in the lead role. The director took to social media to share the news and revealed that the film will be a ‘straight Telugu pan-Indian’ movie, unlike Prabhas’ previous bilingual films. He also said that the film will be a violent cop action thriller, produced by Bhushan Kumar from T-Series.
Since ‘Animal’ turned out to be a massive blockbuster, there were speculations that SRV would begin the sequel ‘Animal Park’ right away, and put the planned ‘Spirit’ with superstar Prabhas on hold.
T-Series announces line up of three films with Sandeep Reddy Vanga
But now T-Series has put the rumours to rest through an official post confirming that Vanga will start working on ‘Spirit‘ before he starts working on ‘Animal Park’, followed by Allu Arjun saga.
The post reads, “It’s a partnership built on trust, fueled by creative freedom, and fortified by an unbreakable bond. Producer Bhushan Kumar and Director #SandeepReddyVanga unveil the next cinematic wonders—Prabhas’ Spirit, Animal Park, and an Allu Arjun saga—the chapters that follow the monumental success of Kabir Singh and #Animal.”
Sandeep Vanga also recently confirmed in an interview that he will soon dive into the pre-production work of “Spirit” and intends to start shooting by September next year. It will be an action drama which will feature Prabhas in the role of a cop for the first time on the big screen.
There are also speculations that Vanga is planning to create a cinematic universe connecting ‘Animal‘ and ‘Spirit,’ as Ranbir Kapoor hinted at the possibility during a press meet with the director. However, there is no official confirmation on this yet.
Prabhas, who was last seen in ‘Adipurush,’ has a slew of projects lined up, including Nag Aswin’s sci-fi film ‘Kalki 2898 AD‘ and Maruti’s horror-comedy ‘Raja Deluxe.’ The actor will be seen in different avatars in these films, showcasing his versatility and range. Prabhas’ fans are eagerly waiting for the trailer of ‘Salaar,’ which is expected to be out soon. The film will clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki‘ at the box office on December 22, 2023.
