Varun Dhawan has an exciting project lined up with Atlee and Murad Khetani. The film, tentatively titled VD18, is an action-entertainer that will feature Varun in the role of a cop. The film also stars Keerthy Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi as the female leads, and Sanya Malhotra in a cameo appearance.
After Singham Again, Jackie Shroff to play a villain again in VD 18
Jackie Shroff, the 66-year-old Bollywood legend, has played negative roles in films such as Mission Kashmir (2000), Devdas (2002), Hulchul (2004), Bhagam Bhag (2006), Apna Sapna Money Money (2006), Raaz: The Mystery Continues (2009), Dhoom 3 (2013), Happy New Year (2014), Housefull 3 (2016), Bharat (2019) and Sooryavanshi (2021).
The veteran actor is once again playing a negative role in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again, where he will return as Lashkar boss Omar Hafeez from Sooryavanshi. The film is still under production, but Jackie has yet another villainous role lined up for him.

According to a latest media report in Peeping moon, Jackie Shroff has joined Varun Dhawan as the main villain in Atlee and Murad Khetani’s upcoming action flick, #VD18. The film is a remake of Atlee’s Tamil hit Theri, and stars Varun as a cop. Jackie’s character is still a mystery, but sources say he will take on the role that was played by Mahendran in the original. Jackie has already shot most of his scenes and will wrap up the rest in early 2024.
VD 18 shoot underway, set to release in May 2024
The film is being directed by Tamil filmmaker Kalees, who made his debut with the sci-fi thriller Kee in 2019. Atlee, who made his Bollywood debut with Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, will present the film along with his wife Priya. The film is slated to release on May 31, 2024.
VD18 is expected to be a high-octane action film, with some spectacular stunts and chase sequences. The film will also have a strong emotional core, as it will explore the bond between Varun and his daughter, played by child actor Riva Arora. The film will be shot in various locations across India and abroad.
The shooting of #VD18 is underway in Kochi and the film is slated to hit the screens in summer 2024. The film is Varun’s first full-on action film, and he is leaving no stone unturned to meet the expectations. After wrapping up #VD18, the Judwa 2 star will join his father David Dhawan’s next comedy film, which will start rolling in April 2024. He also has Raj and DK’s Amazon Prime show, Citadel, lined up for next year. Jackie Shroff, on the other hand, will share the screen with Sunny Deol, Mithun Chakraborty, and Sanjay Dutt in Ahmed Khan and Zee Studios’ action flick, Baap.

VD18 is one of the most awaited films of 2024, as it marks the collaboration of Varun Dhawan with Atlee, who is known for his blockbuster films like Theri, Mersal, and Bigil. The film also boasts of a stellar ensemble cast, with some of the finest actors from Bollywood and South Indian cinema. The film is produced by Murad Khetani of Cine1 Studios and Priya Atlee of A For Apple Studios.
