Jacqueline Fernandez is stepping into a space she has not explored in its purest form before. The actor is set to headline her first out-and-out horror film, marking a fresh turn in her filmography as the genre continues to gain strong momentum with audiences across India. The yet-to-be-titled project will be mounted by Khyati Madaan’s Not Out Entertainment and is set to go on floors later this month.
The development is significant for Jacqueline, who has previously featured in Bhooth Police, a horror comedy that leaned heavily into laughs rather than scares. This time, the brief is very different. As per the reports in Pinkvilla, the new film is being designed as a full-scale theatrical experience, blending fear with emotion and music.
A New Big-Screen Horror Chapter Begins
A source informs, “Jacqueline Fernandez was keen to explore the horror genre with the right script. What excited her about this film was its blend of horror, emotion, and music, making it a complete theatrical experience rather than just a genre film.”
The film has Jacqueline in the lead, while two male actors have already been locked for key parts opposite her. Khyati Madaan’s Not Out Entertainment is producing the project on a grand scale, with the title, director and remaining cast details expected to be unveiled as the film moves into its next phase.
On the production front, the same source adds, “a song and a teaser have already been shot for the film, while the actors are currently busy in workshops.” With prep work already in place, the team is now moving toward principal photography by the end of June 2026.

What makes this announcement especially interesting is where it arrives in Jacqueline’s current career arc. Over the last few years, she has largely stayed within the space of glossy commercial entertainers and ensemble-led projects, so a full-fledged horror film gives her the opportunity to anchor a mood-driven narrative with a very different emotional rhythm.
Jacqueline was last seen in Housefull 5, which released in 2026. Before this, she had explored supernatural territory with Bhooth Police in 2021, directed by Pawan Kripalani and co-starring Saif Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor and Yami Gautam. Released on Disney+ Hotstar, that film operated as a horror comedy, making this new title a much more direct plunge into the horror space.
Her upcoming slate also includes Welcome to the Jungle, the ensemble comedy directed by Ahmed Khan, which is scheduled to release in theatres on June 26, 2026. Set against that mainstream commercial lineup, this Not Out Entertainment production stands out as a meaningful pivot, one that could open up a new genre space for Jacqueline on the big screen. Khyati Madaan’s Not Out Entertainment is also producing another horror film starring Ahan Shetty which is based on a real national tragedy.
