Before her Delhi visit, Janhvi embarked on a promotional tour that included a stop in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, where she participated in the traditional Ganga Aarti. Accompanied by her Mr & Mrs Mahi co-star Rajkummar Rao, she immersed herself in the cultural richness of the region while engaging with fans and media representatives.
About Mr & Mrs Mahi
Directed by Sharan Sharma and produced by Zee Studios and Dharma Productions, Mr & Mrs Mahi features Janhvi Kapoor as a budding cricketer. Reflecting on her rigorous preparation for the film, Janhvi shared insights into her weight loss journey and intensive cricket training sessions during a recent interview.
“When I started prepping for the film – during Mili promotions – I was 8-9 kilos heavier. Sharan was very stressed. He said, ‘You don’t look like a cricketer and if you really want to do this film, you need to lose weight and need to start training in cricket…’,” Janhvi disclosed during the trailer launch event.
A behind-the-scenes clip shared by the film’s producers showcased Janhvi’s transformation into her character, Mahi, shedding light on the rigorous training regimen she underwent. The director emphasised that the preparation for Mr & Mrs Mahi surpassed Janhvi’s previous efforts for Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl.
