Awarapan 2 Boost Sparks Jannat 3 Plans, Vishesh Bhatt Confirms Script Is Underway

Emraan Hashmi’s franchise era may be having a full-blooded comeback moment, and Jannat is the title now stirring the loudest excitement. After Awarapan 2 brought fresh energy to one of his most loved screen legacies, the conversation has quickly shifted to another fan favourite, with producer Vishesh Bhatt confirming that Jannat 3 is now in motion.

For a generation of Hindi film fans, Jannat was never just a successful title. It was the slick, emotionally bruised world of Arjun Dixit, fast money, bad choices and a soundtrack that lingered long after the credits rolled. That memory is clearly still alive, and the latest development suggests Vishesh Films knows exactly how strong that pull remains.

Vishesh Bhatt Confirms Jannat 3 Development

In a recent interview, Vishesh Bhatt addressed the possibility of a third installment and made the intent unmistakable. He said, “After Awarapan, I am definitely looking into Jannat 3.” On the script status, he added, “It is being written.”

That brief but decisive update is the strongest indication yet that the banner is seriously exploring a return to one of Emraan Hashmi’s most identifiable franchises. While the makers have not announced a production schedule or formal cast details yet, the fact that the writing process has begun gives the project a concrete footing.

The original Jannat, released in 2008, was directed by Kunal Deshmukh and starred Emraan Hashmi alongside Sonal Chauhan. The film followed Arjun Dixit, a talented gambler whose obsession with wealth and status drags him into the murky world of match-fixing. Jannat 2 followed in 2012, again directed by Kunal Deshmukh, with Hashmi joined by Randeep Hooda and Esha Gupta. That chapter moved into the illegal arms trade while holding on to the franchise’s familiar blend of romance, crime and emotional fallout.

Emraan Hashmi’S Franchise Momentum Builds Again

The timing of the Jannat 3 update also says plenty about where Emraan Hashmi currently stands. Over the past few years, he has balanced streaming and theatrical work while steadily reconnecting with the intense, morally conflicted persona that helped define his most memorable phase on screen. In 2024, he headlined the Disney+ Hotstar series Showtime. In 2025, he followed it with the theatrical releases Ground Zero and They Call Him OG.

Now, with Awarapan 2 released on August 14, 2026, the renewed push around Jannat feels less like a one-off nostalgic tease and more like a genuine franchise revival wave. Another confirmed title on his slate is Shivam, which is currently in production. That makes Jannat 3 especially significant, because it points to Hashmi revisiting the emotionally charged, high-stakes storytelling space that remains deeply tied to his star identity.
