Javed Akhtar On Ending His Legal Battle With Kangana Ranaut: ‘She Has Given A Letter Of Regrets And Apologies’

Javed Akhtar dropped his defamation case against Kangana Ranaut after she issued an unconditional apology.

Javed Akhtar has officially ended his legal battle with Kangana Ranaut. The veteran lyricist and writer confirmed that Kangana has issued a letter expressing regret and apologising unconditionally for her past remarks.

Kangana Ranaut Issued Apology To Javed Akhtar

Speaking about his decision, Javed Akhtar told Bollywood Hungama, “She has given a letter of regret and apologies. Unconditionally withdrew all her words and statements, making a commitment that she will never repeat them again. Apologies for all the inconveniences caused to me. This is what I wanted, and this is what I got.”

The Controversy That Led To Court

The legal dispute began after Kangana accused Javed Akhtar of pressuring her to stay silent about her alleged relationship with Hrithik Roshan. She claimed that he had “threatened” her when she refused to comply. In response, Javed Akhtar filed a defamation case, determined to set the record straight.

However, sources close to him denied any such threats were ever made. While Javed is known for his patience, he felt the need to take action after the allegations continued for too long. He was prepared for a long legal battle and had no plans for an out-of-court settlement.

Javed Akhtar’s Message: ‘People Must Be Careful About Their Words’

For Javed Akhtar, this case was not just about personal reputation but about holding people accountable for their words. He wanted to send a message to those who believe they can make false claims against public figures without consequences.

He once remarked, “People must learn to be careful about their words, not only when it comes to politicians but also about others.”

With Kangana’s apology now on record, the case has come to an end. While their public feud may not be forgotten, the legal chapter is officially closed.
