Sanya Malhotra, who plays Dr. Eeram in the blockbuster film Jawan, has shared some interesting details about the shooting of the song Zinda Banda, which features her and Shah Rukh Khan along with five other girls. In an interview with ETimes, Sanya revealed that Shah Rukh Khan had sustained a bruise on his hand while performing the energetic dance moves, but he did not let that affect his performance.
Sanya recalls ‘Zinda Banda’ shoot
Sanya said, “On the second day of the shoot I noticed that Shah Rukh Khan had got a bruise, but he was going on and on. And I told him that he had got a bruise on his hand, and then all of us checked our hands and saw that we all had bruises. That was a bit surreal.” She added that Shah Rukh was very easy-going and friendly with everyone on the sets, and never went back to his vanity van to rest. “It was so hot outside when we were shooting for Zinda Banda. Anyone would have gotten tired, but sir did not stop. All of us, girls, were excited to be dancing alongside Shah Rukh Khan,” she said.
Sanya also expressed her admiration for Shah Rukh’s professionalism and dedication to the director’s vision. She said, “It was a pinch-me moment for everyone. I wanted to rush back to the hotel and call my mother and tell her, ‘Mamma maine Shah Rukh sir ke sath kaam kiya, bilkul sath me khade hokar (Mom, I have worked with Shah Rukh Khan).’ It’s unbelievable. Neither did he stop nor did he ask to change the step. He completely surrenders to the vision.”
Jawan
Jawan, directed by Atlee, is a dual role action thriller starring Shah Rukh Khan as both a RAW agent and a gangster. The film also features Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt in pivotal roles. The film has been breaking box office records since its release on September 7, 2023, and is close to crossing the ₹ 1000 crore mark worldwide. Zinda Banda is one of the most popular songs from the film’s soundtrack, composed by Anirudh. The song showcases Shah Rukh Khan’s charisma and energy as he leads his team of girls to fight against injustice and corruption.
