Shah Rukh Khan, the superstar of Bollywood, is basking in the blockbuster success of his recently released action thriller, Jawan. The film, directed by Atlee, also stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt in pivotal roles. The film has crossed 1000 cr mark at global box office and continues to go strong.
SRK approached AP Dhillon to sing a song in Jawan
However, did you know that SRK had approached AP Dhillon, the popular Punjabi singer, to lend his voice for one of the songs in the film? According to a report, SRK is a big fan of AP Dhillon’s music and wanted him to sing for Jawan. However, due to some unknown reasons, the collaboration did not materialize.
In an interview with Instant Bollywood, actress-singer Aaliyah Qureishi and Lehar Khan were asked what was the one thing they didn’t know about Shah Rukh Khan that they found out on the set. In response, Aaliyah said that he is a “big fan” of AP Dhillon. She said: “I was also really surprised…because he wanted him to do a song (for Jawan) and it didn’t work out.” She was also asked which song SRK was jamming on. Aaliyah said that they would jam on AP’s raps while Khan stated that they danced the most on ‘Insane.’
When SRK met AP Dhillon at NMACC party
SRK had met AP Dhillon backstage at the launch party of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in Mumbai, where he also grooved to his song Excuses with his wife Gauri Khan. AP Dhillon had shared a picture with SRK on his Instagram account and expressed his admiration for the actor.
SRK had also revealed in an earlier interaction that Excuses was his favourite track by AP Dhillon and Gurinder Gill. He had said, “Whatever little Punjabi I know from Delhi, we say a lot of ‘tenu laguga’ and ‘pata laguga’, so I really like that song. I think it’s a very cool song and I like the word ‘Pata laguga’.”
Jawan’s music
The music for the film is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, who makes his debut as a solo composer in Bollywood. The soundtrack album consists of six songs, with lyrics written by Irshad Kamil, Kumaar and Raja Kumari. The songs are sung by various artists, including Arijit Singh, Shilpa Rao, Anirudh Ravichander and Raja Kumari. The music has received positive reviews from critics and audiences, and has set several streaming records on YouTube and other platforms.
Jawan is a high-octane action thriller which outlines the emotional journey of a man who is set to rectify the wrongs in the society. SRK plays dual role of Vikram Rathore and his son Azad a vigilante who takes on Kalee Gaikwad, a ruthless politician played by Vijay Sethupathi. The film also delivers a strong social message about issues like the corrupt political system, challenges faced by farmers, and flaws in the healthcare system.
