Over the past two days, three intense posters were released, but the latest one takes a softer turn, showcasing Alia Bhatt in a heartwarming moment with her on-screen brother, Vedang Raina.
Jigra Makers Drop New Poster Ahead Of Teaser Trailer Release Tomorrow
In this new poster, Alia’s character is seen gently caressing Vedang’s head. He appears lost in thought, sitting close to her.
This close moment reveals the caring side of Alia’s character, a sharp contrast to the fierce looks she’s shown in previous posters. Dharma Productions, sharing the poster, captioned it with, “Ek hazaaron mein…”
The day before, Jigra makers dropped another poster where Alia’s intense stare grabbed attention. Her eyes, fixed on the camera, seemed to hold power and protectiveness, giving fans a hint of the movie’s plot.
Alia shared the poster on her social media, writing, “Dum hai…Satya mein dum hai!” She also revealed that the teaser trailer for Jigra is set to drop on 8th September, ramping up excitement even more.
How Alia Prepared For Her Role In The Film
Last year, Alia Bhatt spoke about Jigra, calling it a story of courage, passion, and determination. Reflecting on the project, she said, “Just a little over a year later, we are ready to launch our second production – Jigra, a beautiful story of courage, passion, and determination. I hope to consistently support compelling narratives that are authentic and enduringly timeless, and work with brilliant creative minds to bring them alive.”
It’s not just the emotional depth that Alia has had to master for this film. According to reports, the actress had to learn basketball for several scenes in Jigra.
To make these sequences look authentic, director Vasan Bala brought in a coach to teach her everything from basic movements to more advanced skills like dribbling, passing, and even dunking. Alia reportedly spent a lot of time honing her skills to make her performance on the court believable.
Vedang Raina, who’s set to star alongside Alia, is taking on the role of her brother in the film. Known for his work in The Archies, Vedang’s presence in Jigra is already generating buzz.
But Alia isn’t just starring in the film; she’s also producing it. Jigra marks her second project as a producer under her production house, Eternal Sunshine.
Reflecting on her journey into production, Alia shared with Film Companion, “I believe stories are everywhere, and stories are everything! I turned producer with Eternal Sunshine to tell some of these stories, ones that evoke emotions and leave an impact. Our first production, Darlings, got so much love that it was exciting and overwhelming at the same time.”
Aside from Jigra, Alia’s slate is packed with other major projects, including YRF’s Alpha and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love And War.
