John Abraham’s acting earnings have been steadily increasing after the success of Satyameva Jayate and Batla House. For a fee of Rs. 20 crores, the actor joined Aditya Chopra’s Pathan, and just months later, he signed another feature film, none other than Ek Villain Returns.
According to our sources, the actor agreed to join Mohit Suri’s film for a whopping Rs. 21 crores. “His market rate has been on an upward swing – the amount paid for Batla House was more than Satyameva Jayate, the amount he got for SMJ 2 was more than Batla House, the amount he got for Pathan was more than SMJ 2 and finally, his fees for Ek Villain Returns is higher than Pathan. Over the last 3 years, John’s acting fees have jumped from Rs. 7 crores to Rs. 21 crores,” a source told Bollywood Hungama.
Ek Villain Returns is set to hit theatres in July 2022, just in time for Bakri Eid. He appears in the film alongside Arjun Kapoor, Disha Patani, and Tara Sutaria, who play the female roles. It is a sequel to Mohit Suri’s original smash, Ek Villain, which starred Sidharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh, and Shraddha Kapoor. The film is currently in post-production following the completion of the shoot.
John is presently filming Pathan and will subsequently begin filming for filmmaker Sajid Khan’s forthcoming comedy set in London.
