John Abraham and Akshay Kumar have delivered some of Bollywood’s funniest comedies. Fans loved their chemistry in Housefull 2, where they teamed up with Riteish Deshmukh and Shreyas Talpade.
However, John has now made a surprising revelation of being offered the latest instalment Housefull 5.
John Abraham REJECTED Housefull 5 Because…
Speaking to Zoom, John shared that he was offered a role in the film but chose to step away. He shared, “I was approached for Housefull 5, but I chose not to do it. I felt there was a better space for me reserved somewhere else. I would love to do a Garam Masala with Akshay. Maybe something situational, dark comedy or something exciting with him.”

Housefull 5 will bring back Akshay and Abhishek Bachchan, but John’s absence will disappoint his fans. His comic timing was a highlight of the franchise, and many were hoping for his return.
However, his interest in a Garam Masala sequel is big news. The 2005 comedy remains a fan favourite and a reunion with Akshay could be a major HIT.
John Is Currently Seen In The Diplomat
While stepping away from Housefull 5, John is celebrating the success of The Diplomat. He plays JP Singh, the Deputy High Commissioner for India in Pakistan, in this political drama. The film follows his mission to bring Indian citizen Uzma Ahmed back home safely.
Sadia Khateeb plays Uzma, a woman forced into marriage by Tahir, portrayed by Jagjeet Sandhu. The film also features Revathi, Kumud Mishra, and Sharib Hashmi in key roles. Directed by Shivam Nair, The Diplomat released on March 14 and is close to crossing Rs 20 crore at the box office.
John is not just the lead actor but also the co-producer of The Diplomat under his banner, JA Entertainment.
