Bollywood’s 2025 release calendar is going through big changes. Jolly LLB 3, starring Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi, was originally set to release on 10 April 2025. But now, the courtroom comedy-drama has been pushed to August.
Jolly LLB 3 Pushed To August, Kesari Chapter 2 In April
The decision to delay comes after Karan Johar requested a schedule change. As per a Bollywood Hungama report, he planned to release Kesari Chapter 2 on April 18 and asked Akshay Kumar to move Jolly LLB 3. Akshay agreed to the request.
With this change, Kesari Chapter 2 will now take the slot of Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, which has been pushed to late 2025 due to reshoots of some key sequences. The release schedules for Kesari Chapter 2 and Jolly LLB 3 have been adjusted and the new dates will be announced soon.
About Jolly LLB 3 And Kesari Chapter 2
Directed by Subhash Kapoor, Jolly LLB 3 will see Akshay Kumar return as Advocate Jagdishwar “Jolly” Mishra and Arshad Warsi as Advocate Jagdish “Jolly” Tyagi. The film will bring a mix of courtroom drama and comedy, with Huma Qureshi, Amrita Rao, and Saurabh Shukla reprising their roles.
Fans were eagerly waiting for the film’s April release, but now they’ll have to wait a little longer. However, the delay is expected to give the team more time to fine-tune the film.
Meanwhile, Kesari Chapter 2 will see Akshay Kumar take on the role of C. Sankaran Nair, the lawyer and freedom fighter who fought against British rule after the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi and produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, the film is based on the book The Case That Shook The Empire by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat.
The historical drama will also star R Madhavan in a key role as a lawyer, alongside Ananya Panday. Unlike the first Kesari, which focused on the Battle of Saragarhi, this film will explore the legal struggle for justice in colonial India.
Apart from these films, Akshay has exciting projects ahead with Hera Pheri 3, Welcome to the Jungle, and Housefull 5 lined up.
