Jr NTR has been the talk of the town after the success of RRR and is making big moves. While he’s gearing up for the release of Devara: Part One on September 27, 2024, and has signed on for YRF’s War 2 alongside Hrithik Roshan for an Independence Day 2025 release, he’s already eyeing new projects.
Jr NTR In Talks For A Two-Part Actioner With Hi Nanna Director
The latest buzz is that Jr NTR is in discussions with Shouryuv, the director of Hi Nanna. According to the reports, NTR is impressed with Shouryuv’s vision and has asked him to turn his concept into a full screenplay. The upcoming film is planned as a two-part action drama, with shooting expected to begin in early 2026.
A source close to the project told Pinkvilla, “While Jr NTR will be busy with War, Devara 2, and Dragon until the end of 2025, he hopes to start working on this untitled Shouryuv film in the first quarter of 2026. It’s set to be a high-octane action drama, designed as a two-part epic rather than splitting a single film into two parts after production.”
The plan is ambitious. The first part of the film is slated for release in 2028, with the second part following in 2031.
“This isn’t a typical action drama. It’s an ambitious project designed to unfold over six hours of storytelling, showcasing NTR Jr.’s dramatic strength. He’s excited to see how Shouryuv will harness the film’s potential for intense confrontations and dynamic dialogues,” the source continued.
Despite Shouryuv being relatively new to the industry, Jr NTR has been impressed with his directorial skills.
“NTR always supports fresh talent and appreciates strong scripts. Shouryuv is working on expanding his idea into a full screenplay and is confident that it will do justice to NTR Jr.’s star power. NTR is waiting for a final narration later this year before committing to the project,” the source said.
What’s More For Jr NTR?
In addition to his collaboration with Shouryuv, Jr NTR is exploring scripts across various languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.
He’s open to working in multiple industries, demonstrating that language barriers are no obstacle for him. Despite a noticeable gap between RRR and Devara, Jr NTR is focused on maintaining a steady stream of releases to keep his fans excited and engaged. For the unversed, his film Devara Part 1 releases in theatres on September 27.
