However, this impressive box office figure has left the internet divided. A vocal segment of netizens is sceptical, alleging manipulation of box office numbers by the film’s makers. Accusations of inflating figures and corporate booking have emerged, fuelling heated debates online.
Accusations Of A Corporate Scam On Kalki 2898 AD
One Twitter user shared a detailed thread, determined to expose what they believe is a scam. The user wrote: “Exposing #Kalki28989AD Scam (USA Premiere),” pointing out irregularities in the movie’s screening schedule.
They noted that while most theatres in North America operate from 10 a.m. to midnight, Kalki 2898 AD had showings at unusual hours like 1 a.m., 2 a.m., 3 a.m., and 4 a.m. The user also shared screenshots purportedly showing empty theatres with seemingly self-booked seats, claiming this was evidence of corporate manipulation.
“Enough proof to get an idea how they managed to get an opening of $3.8 million from empty theatres and self-booking,” the user asserted, dubbing the phenomenon “corporate booking exposed.”

Fans Rally In Defense Of Prabhas
In response, Prabhas’ fans have leapt to his defence. One supporter retorted, “Look who is talking about corporate bookings. If you check on Google, you’ll see corporate bookings started with Pathaan.”
