Virender Sehwag Praises Chandu Champion
Among the famous personalities to appreciate the film was former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag. Moved by the movie, he shared his views with Cricbuzz.
He stated, “Maine kal ek picture dekhi uska naam tha Chandu Champion. Kamaal ki picture hai. Usme dikhaya gaya hai ki jo humare paralympic ke khiladi the unki kitni dikkaton ke saath guzarna pada.” (“I watched a movie called Chandu Champion. What a film. It showcases the struggles of our paralympic players.”)
Sehwag emphasised the emotional depth of the movie, highlighting how it underlines the hardships of paralympic athletes, specifically those like Petkar.
Actor and anchor Gaurav Kapur also noted that more stories about lesser-known sports and athletes need to be shared. He urged everyone to watch the film and understand the paths athletes in various sports go through.
Filmmaker Karan Johar also praised Chandu Champion. Taking to Instagram, Johar shared his view: “Solid, sincere, and supreme.” He further commented that Kabir Khan had directed the “brave and inspiring life tale like a love letter to the human spirit.” Johar was particularly impressed with Kartik Aaryan’s performance, calling it his “career-best” and a “humane and honest portrayal.” He encouraged everyone to watch the film, labelling it a “must-watch.”
