Ranveer Singh is on the way to attain the tag of a chameleon in Bollywood. What started from Band Baaja Baaraat continued with Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat & Gully Boy. But what will be more interesting to see is how he turns to Kapil Dev in ’83.
Kapil Dev recently talked about the efforts of Ranveer Singh and shared his nervousness about the film. He said to a leading daily, “He (Ranveer) is not 18 [years of age]. I’d see him work so hard on bowling; he’d bowl and play for eight hours constantly to understand the rhythm, and would do so in the peak of summer. In such conditions, even cricketers [avoid training] to prevent injuries. So, I feared for his fitness,”
He also revealed that the movie will have some untold locker-room stories. He added, “People know little about what happens in the dressing room, but, when the movie comes out, it will be a different [revelation]. People don’t know too much about what happens in the hotels and at team meetings. [The film will depict] how we planned [the match]. It will also highlight how much fun we had while we played.”
The movie is helmed by Kabir Khan who last directed Salman Khan’s Tubelight which didn’t stir any records at the box office. ’83 will release on 10th April’s 2020 and the promotional activities should start somewhere around February.
