Karan Johar returned to the director’s chair with the romantic comedy-drama Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The film was also special because it celebrated his 25th anniversary as a director. Starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, the film was released last week and has met with mostly positive reviews and really impressive box-office numbers that will keep growing.
To celebrate its success, the team of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani held a press conference yesterday in Mumbai. It was attended by the director and its lead actors. At the event, Karan Johar praised his dear friend and longtime collaborators Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. He said, “its important to say here that Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol are romance icons. They represent love, they have created love in movies. Shah Rukh is love.”
Kjo further said, “In fact, Shah Rukh is not a superstar, he is an emotion. He is love and the way he sings a song, a love song, portrays a love scene, when he says “aur paas”, you want to go completely pass. The director continued, “because Shah Rukh Khan is Shah Rukh Khan and there will never be another Shah Rukh Khan.”
New Song Kudmayi Was Released Yesterday
Before the film’s release, the makers had released four songs from the album. They are Tum Kya Mile, Ve Kamleya, Dhindhora Baje Re and What Jhumka. Today, after a few days of the theatrical run, the makers dropped a brand new song called Kudmayi. It depicts the beautiful and gorgeous wedding of Rocky and Rani in the film. The over four-minute-long song has been sung beautifully by Shahid Mallya and has been composed by Pritam. The lyrics were penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya.

Karan Johar Teases A Rocky Rani Sequel
While basking in the success of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Karan also has plans for its sequel. In a recent interview, he was asked about the living arrangements of Rocky and Rani after their marriage. He believes that Rani would not move with the Randhawas. Instead, both families would be comfortable with Rocky and Rani establishing their own separate homes. He then said that this idea could be explored in a potential sequel.
