Kareena Kapoor Khan is gearing up for a major project as she celebrates 25 years in Bollywood. The actress, who made her debut in 2000 with Refugee, has become one of the biggest female stars in Indian cinema today. And now, she’s set to star in what could be her most exciting film yet.
Kareena Kapoor Signs Massive Pan-India Film As She Marks 25 Years In Bollywood
Sources close to the development told Pinkvilla that Kareena has been offered several Pan-India films over the past year, but she has chosen one that’s said to be among the biggest feature films in Indian cinema.
The source revealed, “It’s a role that she has not done till date and the director in question is among the most celebrated and bankable of Indian Cinema at this point.” This exciting project comes just after her success in Crew, released in March 2024.
Kareena was reportedly so impressed by the film’s concept that she didn’t hesitate to say yes. “Usually, she takes her time to sign on for a feature film, but for this one, it was an instant yes post the narration. She was blown away with the world created by the director and is now looking forward to being on the set to explore newer dynamics of the character,” the source shared.
The Film In Question Is Expected To Go On Floors In Jan 2025
The film is set to begin production in January 2025, with a release planned for 2026. It will be shot in both India and abroad, with Kareena dedicating all of 2025 to the project.
“She’s blocked off the entire year for this film. It’s a huge Pan-India project with actors from different industries, and Kareena is ready to dive into this new world,” the source added.
Before starting this massive venture, Kareena is set to wrap up a film with Meghna Gulzar in late 2024, where she’ll portray a cop. This untitled project, produced by Junglee Pictures, is scheduled to begin shooting in November 2024.
For the unversed, the actress is currently seen in her latest release The Buckingham Murders. This crime thriller drama features her as a grieving mother who investigates a crucial murder case.
