Alaya F and Kartik Aaryan will come together for the first time in gracing the screens in their upcoming next ‘Freddy’. The film has been shot in Mahabaleshwar. The film has a rather urban niche theme and it’s the same film that was left by Red Chillies and later got made.
We reported earlier that Kartik Aaryan is not keen that Freddy releases in cinemas as it’s a kind of niche film. But the makers of the film, NH studios want to go with the theatrical release, and seems that’s what is going to happen eventually.

All these films were released in a rather tepid way in cinemas with less than 40 screens despite makers like Neeraj Pandey, Imtiaz Ali and Shailendra Singh backing them. This happens because all these films were keen to go for direct to digital but most of the OTTs are not interested in taking films without faces for OTT anymore and they ask makers to go for limited theatrical to get the image of film uplifted and some sort of publicity among the audience.
Now Freddy has to opt for this route as it will be pitched to the audience as a limited niche film. A kind of dark film set in Parsi backdrop doesn’t seem like a big box office draw despite Kartik in it.

Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan is enjoying the success of his recently released film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. BB 2 stars Kartik, Kiara Advani, Tabu and Rajpal Yadav, among others. Akash Kaushik wrote the story, and Farhad Samji and Akash Kaushik wrote the dialogues. On May 20, the film released in theatres.
