After the success of Satyaprem Ki Katha (2023), Kartik Aaryan and director Sameer Vidwans seemed ready to reunite. The film was a major hit at the box office, sparking talks about their next collaboration.
Over a year later, they’ve found the perfect story in the form of another romantic drama. The only challenge left is finding the right producer to back the project.
Kartik Aaryan & Sameer Vidwans’ Next Collab Seeks Producer
Sources told Mid-day that the duo has already selected a script they’re excited about. During the shoot of Satyaprem Ki Katha, Kartik was so impressed by Sameer that he expressed his desire to work with him again. He even encouraged Sameer to find another romantic story. When the new script was pitched, Kartik immediately loved it.
Naturally, their first choice for a producer was Sajid Nadiadwala, who had worked with them on their previous hit. They were eager to repeat their successful partnership as Sameer had signed a two-film deal with Nadiadwala & thought this would be the perfect follow-up.
However, Nadiadwala had to turn them down due to his packed schedule. He’s already committed to major projects like Sikandar with Salman Khan, Housefull 5 with Akshay Kumar, Baaghi 4 with Tiger Shroff, and a film with Shahid Kapoor directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. As a result, the director and actor have been looking for another producer, but so far, no deal has been struck.
Kartik’s Work Front
Talking about his work front, Kartik Aaryan recently starred in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 & is yet to announce his next big project. He does have a romantic drama lined up with director Anurag Basu and producer Bhushan Kumar, but it’s uncertain whether it will be part of the Aashiqui franchise or a standalone film.
A sequel to Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019) is also in the works. With so many projects in the pipeline, it would be interesting to see when his collaboration with Vidwans will get off the ground.
