About Kesari Chapter 2
Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, Kesari Chapter 2 continues the story from the 2019 film Kesari. This time, it focuses on the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, a pivotal moment in India’s history. The film is based on the book The Case That Shook the Empire. Akshay Kumar stars as C Sankaran Nair, a brave lawyer. R Madhavan and Ananya Panday also have key roles.
The film retells the events of April 13, 1919. Thousands gathered at Jallianwala Bagh to protest the Rowlatt Act. General Dyer ordered his troops to fire on the crowd without warning. Over 1,600 rounds were fired. British records report 291 deaths, while Indian estimates suggest more than 500 people died.
Kesari Chapter 2 brings this untold story to cinemas. The film releases in theatres worldwide on April 18.
