Emraan Hashmi’s next film Ground Zero will have its red-carpet premiere in Srinagar on April 18. This will be the first Bollywood film in nearly 40 years to do so in the city. The film will release in cinemas across India on April 25, 2025.
Ground Zero Premiere In Srinagar To Honour Soldiers And BSF Army
The team decided to premiere the film in Srinagar to honour soldiers and BSF personnel posted there. They want to show the story first to the people who live the reality it reflects. The screening will include military officers, making it more than just a film launch.
The entire shoot took place in Kashmir. The film shows the rough terrain and high-tension atmosphere of the region. It also revisits a lesser-known story in Indian history – the operation against Ghazi Baba, who was linked to the 2001 Indian Parliament attack.
After the trailer release, Ground Zero caught attention for its intense tone and real-life base. New posters have added to the buzz in the run-up to the premiere.
The premiere in Srinagar isn’t just a media event. For locals, it’s a rare moment. It’s been 38 years since a Hindi film had its red-carpet launch there, and Ground Zero is changing that.
About The Film
Directed by Tejas Deoskar, the film comes from Excel Entertainment, with Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar producing. Emraan plays BSF Commandant Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey. His character leads a mission to eliminate Ghazi Baba, a senior commander of the terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed. The story is based on real events and focuses on a high-stakes BSF operation considered one of the most daring in recent decades.
The project also includes co-producers Kassim Jagmagia, Vishal Ramchandani, Sundeep C. Sidhwani, Arhan Bagati, Talisman Films, Abhishek Kumar, and Nishikant Roy.
