The much-awaited trailer for Kesari Chapter 2 is finally out. Starring Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, and Ananya Panday, the film brings to life the fearless legal battle of C Sankaran Nair against the British Empire after the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
Kesari Chapter 2 Is A Film That Seeks Justice
At the trailer launch event in Delhi, producer Karan Johar spoke about the film’s deeper message. He emphasised that it goes beyond a tribute and demands accountability.
He said, “In memory of those lives that were lost; in memory of those wounds that are still raw; in memory of the sadness that engulfs Jallianwala Bagh, even today. This film is not a homage. It’s not an honour. It is yet a film that asks the British Empire for an apology through the brave narrative of Sankaran Nair. This film is about the battle fought by Sankaran Nair versus the Crown. Kesari: Chapter 2 is neither Khushi nor Gham but Gussa.”

Akshay Kumar revealed why this project means so much to him. His family has a direct connection to the tragic events of Jallianwala Bagh.

Akshay shared, “This is a very personal film. My dad was born just opposite Jallianwala Bagh. My grandfather has seen all this. This is very personal and very important.” He also acknowledged director Karan Singh Tyagi and Sankaran Nair’s grandson for helping him understand the depth of the story.
