Akshay Kumar is set to bring laughter and thrills with his upcoming film Khel Khel Mein, scheduled for an Independence Day 2024 release. The trailer promises a blend of humour and intrigue, showcasing a fun-filled ride with plenty of secrets and laughs.
In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Akshay shared a surprising perspective on the iconic cartoon Tom and Jerry.
Akshay Kumar Says Tom And Jerry Is VIOLENT & Not A Comedy
While many see the show as a classic example of comedy, Akshay sees it differently. “No, no. Tom and Jerry is not comedy; Tom and Jerry is action; it’s violence,” he remarked.
Akshay further revealed how he drew inspiration from the cartoon for his own action sequences. “I’ll tell you one secret. So many action scenes I have done, I have taken from Tom and Jerry,” he said. He specifically pointed out a helicopter scene that mirrors the animated antics from the show.
Additionally, Akshay mentioned that National Geographic also influenced his action scenes. “And another one from which I had taken is National Geographic, where you get to see great action. Tom and Jerry is unbelievable, the kind of action they have,” he explained.

The film’s trailer features a group of seven friends playing a game where their phones’ secrets are revealed for a single night. The soundtrack includes the songs “Hauli Hauli,” “Duur Na Karin,” and “Do U Know,” which have already garnered attention.
Khel Khel Mein will hit theatres on August 15, going up against Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s Stree 2 and John Abraham’s action drama Vedaa. Fans are eagerly anticipating this clash of big releases as the film promises both comedy and action-packed entertainment.
