Sunny Deol has marked the first anniversary of his blockbuster Gadar 2 by celebrating its massive success and the profound impact it had on his career.
On Sunday, Deol took to Instagram to express his gratitude to fans, calling the film a “revolution” in his life.

Sharing a video from the film, Sunny wrote, “One year of the revolution in my life Gadar 2. The love you all showered from across the globe, the way that you all made the release a festival, the way you celebrated Tara Singh and his family, made theatres turn into carnivals was and will be unmatched for a long time.”
He praised the audience for turning the film’s release into a grand celebration and for injecting new life into the team behind the film.
Released on August 11, 2023, Gadar 2 was a sequel to the 2001 hit Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. The film, set against the backdrop of the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971, featured Deol reprising his role as Tara Singh. It became one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of the previous year, crossing the Rs 650 crore mark globally at the box office.
Deol, a prominent action star of the 1990s, expressed pride in the film’s success, adding, “Your love has injected a new life into all of us and this success is all yours. Love Tara Singh. 1 year of Gadar 2, Hindustan ki asli blockbuster.”

Gadar 2 sees Sunny Deol as Tara Singh embarking on a dangerous mission to rescue his son Charanjeet ‘Jeete’ Singh, portrayed by Utkarsh Sharma, who is imprisoned in Pakistan during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971. The original film focused on the Partition era, and the sequel continued the intense and emotional storyline that captivated audiences.
