About SRK’s King
King is reported to mark Shah Rukh’s return as a notorious underworld figure. Although he won’t be reprising his iconic role in Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3 (with Ranveer Singh taking over), Shah Rukh will portray a grey character in King.
Additionally, the film will serve as the theatrical debut of his daughter, Suhana Khan. Suhana made her acting debut in Zoya Akhtar’s coming-of-age period film The Archies on Netflix India last year. In King, she will share the screen with her father, portraying a character mentored by his own.
The film is co-produced by Shah Rukh’s Red Chillies Entertainment and Siddharth Anand’s Marflix Pictures, the director of Pathaan. King will be helmed by Sujoy Ghosh, who previously collaborated with Red Chillies on the 2019 thriller Badla, starring Taapsee Pannu, Amitabh Bachchan, and Amrita Singh.
