In a heartfelt moment at the Zee Cine Awards 2024, Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan was bestowed with the Best Actor award for his riveting performance in ‘Jawan‘. The star seized the occasion to deliver a rousing speech, dedicating his victory to his beloved children, Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam.

Khan’s speech was a blend of emotion and his trademark wit. He reflected on the years that had passed since his last award, humorously remarking on his time away from the limelight, where he embraced domestic life, making pizzas and playing with his children. The pandemic years, he noted, were a hiatus filled with introspection and family time.
In the lastest video, posted on Tuesday, the 58-year-old was heard saying, “It has been some time since I won an award. Kuch aath-nau saal ho gaye (Eight-nine years have gone by since I won the best actor trophy). Love hi love mil raha the award nahin mil raha tha (I was receiving love but no awards). This is my first award after many years.”

A witty SRK then left the audience roaring with excitement, when he added the ‘baap’ dialogue in honour of his children. He said, “This message goes out to my children and my wife, Jab tak aapka baap zinda hai, entertainment zinda hai!” he quipped.
As he accepted the award, Khan’s message to his children was clear and poignant, implying that the spirit of entertainment within him is evergreen. This statement resonated with the audience, serving as a reminder of his enduring legacy and the joy he continues to bring to his fans worldwide.
The DDLJ star also opened up about the period of lull in his career while expressing gratitude. “I want to share something personal. About four-five years ago, my films flopped and I got upset with myself. Main ghar par baith gaya aur pizza aur rotiyaan banane laga baccho ke sath (I sat at home and started baking pizzas and making rotis with my children). I started playing with my children. The next three-four years were wasted due to the COVID-19pandemic (sic),” he recalled.

On the work front, after the mega blockbuster success of Pathaan, Jawan and Dunki, Shah Rukh Khan is yet to announce his next film. However, as per reports, he will be seen alongside his daughter Suhana in Sujoy Ghosh’s action thriller King, YRF’s Pathaan 2 and Siddharth Anand’s Tiger vs Pathaan.
