Nikhil Dwivedi secured the rights to recreate Quentin Tarantino’s blockbuster Kill Bill in India a few years ago. Since then, fans have been waiting for an update on the project. Now, the recent update states that Anurag Kashyap will direct the Hindi remake, and that the producers have begun talks with Kriti Sanon for the main role, which was originally performed by Uma Thurman
A source told Pinkvilla, “Nikhil has been working closely on the script of Kill Bill adaptation with Anurag Kashyap all through the lockdown. The duo are calling it a homage to the original film and have finally locked a script that does justice to the legacy of the Quentin Tarantino directorial. Anurag and Nikhil have now taken a step ahead to move on to the casting front and initiated conversations with Kriti Sanon to play the lead.”
This will be the first time when Kriti will be seen in a full-fledged action flick, and she will be receiving extensive training in various sorts of action before the film begins production.
“It’s the character of an assassin, termed as the deadliest woman in the world. The action aside, there runs a strong undercurrent of revenge and emotions all through the narrative, much like the original film,” the source added.
The film will see two more actresses apart from Kriti. While the exact dates of this film’s production are uncertain, Kriti is likely to finish her current commitments, which include the Prabhas and Saif Ali Khan’s movie Adipurush, in which she plays Sita.
