The team of ‘Laapataa Ladies‘, the upcoming comedy film from Jio Studios and Aamir Khan Productions, is on a promotional tour across the country. The film, which is releasing on March 1st, 2024, has already impressed the audiences with its hilarious trailer and catchy songs like ‘DoubtWa’, ‘Sajni’, and ‘Beda Paar’. The film is directed by Kiran Rao.
Now, the team is heading to Pune for a special screening at Symbiosis College Pune on Monday, February 26th.

The screening will be attended by producer Aamir Khan, director Kiran Rao, and the cast Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastava, and Nitanshi Goel.
Pune, which is known as the Oxford of India, is a major educational center and Symbiosis College is one of its landmarks. The students of the college are in for a treat as they get to watch ‘Laapataa Ladies‘ with the team.

The film has also received positive feedback from the screenings in Bhopal, Jaipur, Lucknow, Bangalore, and Ahmedabad.
Laapataa Ladies is a comedy about missing brides. The film is based on an award-winning story by Biplab Goswami. The screenplay & dialogue are written by Sneha Desai, while the additional dialogues have been jotted down by Divyanidhi Sharma. The film is produced by Aamir Khan and Jyoti Deshpande under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions and Kindling Productions.

No The trailer gives a glimpse of the quirky characters and the humorous situations they find themselves in. The film is set in 2001, somewhere in rural India, where the concept of arranged marriages and dowry is still prevalent.

The trailer begins with two men complaining to the police that their new wives have gone missing while they were travelling on the same train. The police officer, played by Ravi Kishan, asks them if they have any photos of their brides, but they only have pictures of them in their wedding attire, with their faces covered. The trailer then shows the two brides, played by Nitanshi Goel and Pratibha Ranta, who have switched places and dwell into a series of bafflement on the go.
Laapata Ladies marks Kiran Rao’s second directorial venture
The film marks the return of Kiran Rao as a director after a gap of 13 years, since her debut film Dhobi Ghat in 2011. Coming from the producers of Delhi Belly, Dangal, and Peepli Live, the film is sure to deliver a humorous treat on its release. Moreover, The film has also received a standing ovation at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
