Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2, the much-awaited sequel to the bold and daring film is gearing up for its release this Friday, April 19. Excitement has been building for weeks, especially amidst rumours of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) demanding significant cuts in the movie. Director Dibakar Banerjee had hinted at these alterations during the trailer launch event last week.
CBFC Demands Section 377 Disclaimer In LSD 2
The CBFC, in its scrutiny of Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2, extended the duration of the initial disclaimer by 10 seconds.
This extended disclaimer now includes a 20-second segment emphasising legal protections for transgender individuals against sexual offences, as per the directives of the CBFC’s Examining Committee.
Asked To Remove Abusive Language And ‘Beti Bachao’ Word
Moreover, to adhere to regulatory guidelines, explicit language throughout the film, including within song lyrics, has been muted. Notably, in the latter part of the movie, the phrase ‘Beti Bachao’ is silenced. Additionally, the CBFC requested the blurring of the image of the National Flag.
LSD 2 Gets A Certificate With The Below Runtime
Following these alterations, Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 received an ‘A’ certificate from the CBFC. The film’s official runtime, as stated on the certificate, stands at 116 minutes, translating to 1 hour and 56 minutes.
Dibakar Banerjee Said ‘Baap Ki Gaali De Sakta Hoon?’
Director Dibakar Banerjee shed light on the censorship process during the trailer launch, remarking on its smooth progression. “Very surprisingly, the censor experience for Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 was smooth,” he expressed. Banerjee recounted a humorous exchange with the board regarding the muting of certain expletives. “We had applied for an adults-only (A) certificate. They simply asked us to mute ‘maa behen ki gaalis’. I asked them, ‘Kya main baap ki gaali de sakta hoon?’. They answered, ‘Aap maa, baap aur behen teeno ko gaali se alag rakhein’”
Banerjee elaborated on the adjustments made to comply with Indian film standards, including the blurring of frontal nudity scenes in the climax.
