Maidaan, the eagerly anticipated biopic chronicling the life of Indian football pioneer Syed Abdul Rahim, has hit the big screens with a splash, but not necessarily at the box office.
Despite garnering rave reviews and generating significant buzz, the film starring Ajay Devgn experienced a lukewarm response on its opening day, managing to amass a modest Rs 7.25 crores nett, which includes earnings from paid previews on Thursday.
In response to this somewhat disappointing debut, the makers of Maidaan have devised a strategic plan to entice larger audiences into theatres. Recognising the challenges posed by its lacklustre opening and the competition posed by the multi-starrer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, the film’s producers have rolled out a special offer on ticket sales.
Maidaan Makers Announce ‘Buy One Get One’ Free Offer On Tickets After Disastrous Opening
The offer, known as BOGO (Buy One, Get One free), has proven successful for other films like Zara Hatke Zara Bachke and Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, as well as the recent hit Crew. Boney Kapoor, one of the producers, took to social media to announce the offer, urging fans to seize the opportunity to experience Maidaan on the big screen.
“Score big with Maidaan‘s buy 1 get 1 offer! 🎟️ Rally your team and come cheer for #TeamIndia in theatres now,” Kapoor shared on his social platforms.

Despite the praises showered upon Ajay Devgn and the entire team for their remarkable dedication, the film’s commercial success is imperative due to the substantial investments involved. Whether this enticing offer will turn the tide for Maidaan at the box office remains to be seen.
