Unveiled at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, the footage wastes no time telling fans that this is not a nostalgic return to familiar Marvel territory. It is a full villain reset, and Doom arrives sounding terrifyingly certain of his power: “Hell answers to me, for I am Doom.”
The 2 minute, 10 second preview opens on Victor von Doom seated on his throne as Sue Storm frames his rise and ruin, saying he was always “the smartest person in the room” before getting lost after his loved ones were taken from him. From there, the footage moves through a series of grim images and urgent conversations, bringing Sue, Magneto, Steve Rogers, Shang-Chi, Shuri, Thor and Gambit into a story that looks far darker than Marvel’s recent ensemble teases.
Doctor Doom Takes Center Stage In The New Footage
The special look lands its biggest punch in the Thor and Doom faceoff. As Thor warns that Doom will “beg for hell,” the villain barely reacts, brushing aside the God of Thunder with casual force before delivering the line that closes the promo with a chill: “Hell answers to me, for I am Doom.” The footage also teases Sentinels tearing through the chaos, while Reed Richards appears to confront Doom over the devastation left behind.
That sharper, more ominous tone now anchors one of Marvel’s biggest 2026 releases. Avengers: Doomsday is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and is scheduled for an exclusive theatrical release on December 18, 2026. Official film details describe a collision course involving heroes from three distinct universes, with Doom positioned as the existential threat at the center of it all. The cast is stacked even by Marvel standards, including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Simu Liu, Letitia Wright, Ian McKellen, Channing Tatum and Patrick Stewart.
