The first two films, Masti and Grand Masti, were successful at the box office, but Great Grand Masti was a disaster. The makers are hoping to revive the franchise with Mastiii 4, but the challenge is that this genre typically works better with single-screen audiences. Unfortunately, India has very few single screens left today, which makes it difficult for such films to find their audience base.
Spot Bookings And Word Of Mouth Are Key
With bookings being so poor, both films will now have to rely entirely on word of mouth and spot bookings. When it comes to walk-in audiences on Friday, Mastiii 4 may have a slight edge over 120 Bahadur on the first day. The comedy film could attract some footfall from audiences looking for light entertainment, especially if early reviews are decent.
However, for both films to show any growth over the weekend, the word of mouth will need to be very strong. Saturday and Sunday collections will depend entirely on how audiences react to the films on Friday. If the reviews are negative or mixed, both movies could struggle to even reach Rs 10 crores in their opening weekend.
