Get ready for some shocking box office news. Mastiii 4 has wrapped up its first week with an embarrassing Rs 10.95 crore net collection at the domestic box office. The Riteish Deshmukh, Aftab Shivdasani, and Vivek Oberoi starrer adult comedy has officially become one of the biggest disasters of 2025.
The film opened with Rs 2.25 crore on November 21 despite releasing on 2200 screens. Although the much-loved trio reunited after nine years, audiences showed no interest in watching this fourth instalment of the Masti franchise. The opening weekend itself was a disaster, and the weekdays have only made things worse.
Complete Collapse After Opening Weekend
The film earned Rs 2 crore on Saturday and Rs 2.25 crore on Sunday, bringing the opening weekend total to just Rs 6.50 crore. This was already a terrible start for a film releasing on such a wide scale. Then came the inevitable Monday crash.
The film added only Rs 1.20 crore on Monday and Rs 1.25 crore on Tuesday. Day 6 saw an even bigger drop with just Rs 1.10 crore coming in, and Day 7 collapsed further to Rs 0.90 crore. With these numbers, the film has managed to collect only Rs 10.95 crore net in its entire first week. The writing is clearly on the wall.
Cannot Even Recover Print And Advertising Costs
The most embarrassing part is that Mastiii 4 will fail to recover even its print and advertising costs from theatrical collections. The P and A cost alone exceeds Rs 10 crore. Releasing on 2200 screens with approximately 9000 shows across India costs around Rs 5.5 crore just for prints and advertising.
With the film barely crossing Rs 10 crore in its first week and showing no signs of growth, it will finish its theatrical run under Rs 12 crore net. This is a complete disaster for everyone involved with the project. The makers, distributors, and exhibitors have all lost money on this film.
How The Masti Franchise Has Declined
The decline of the Masti franchise is shocking when you look at the numbers. The first Masti in 2004 opened to Rs 1.80 crore and collected Rs 20.28 crore lifetime. Grand Masti in 2013 was a massive blockbuster, opening at Rs 12.51 crore and collecting Rs 102 crore lifetime.
However, Great Grand Masti in 2016 showed the first signs of trouble, opening at Rs 2.50 crore and finishing at Rs 13.59 crore lifetime. Now Mastiii 4 in 2025 has opened at Rs 2 crore and will finish under Rs 12 crore lifetime, making it the lowest grossing film in the entire franchise.

Why Did Audiences Reject The Film
The poor response clearly shows that audiences were not interested in another Masti sequel. The third film had already disappointed, and there was no demand for a fourth instalment. The adult comedy genre itself has fallen out of favor with mainstream audiences in recent years.
Additionally, lots of shows were cancelled on day one itself, indicating that advance bookings were extremely weak. The film directed by Milap Zaveri failed to generate any buzz or excitement before release. Even the reunion of the original trio after nine years could not bring audiences to theaters.
