Mirzapur makers have just announced that the hit series is moving from the digital space to the big screen.
Sharing an interesting update on Instagram, Excel Entertainment dropped a teaser video featuring Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Abhishek Banerjee, and Divyenndu, announcing the much-anticipated Mirzapur: The Film. The theatrical release is set for 2026, bringing an entirely new chapter for these iconic characters.

Alongside the announcement teaser, they wrote, “Ab bhaukaal bhi bada hoga, aur parda bhi. #MirzapurTheFilm, coming soon.”

The teaser which runs over a minute and a half, has sparked massive excitement, particularly with the hint of Divyenndu’s character, Munna Tripathi, returning.
Munna, who met his end in the second season, makes a comeback in the teaser, boldly declaring, “I’m a Hindi film hero. A Hindi film is best enjoyed in a theatre. Need I remind you, I’m immortal.”
His line alone has fans buzzing, wondering how his character will reappear in this intense, crime-filled universe.
Prime Video also shared the teaser, added to the anticipation. Their post reads, “Diwali pe sabko mithai milti hai, lekin yeh lo, Mirzapur ki asli barfi.” (Everyone gets sweets on Diwali, but here’s the real treat from Mirzapur.)
About Mirzapur The Film
Directed by Gurmmeet Singh and created by Puneet Krishna, the film will reunite audiences with some of their favourite characters from the series. Pankaj Tripathi will return as the ruthless Kaleen Bhaiya, with Ali Fazal back as Guddu Pandit, and Divyenndu as Munna. Abhishek Banerjee, known for his role as the unsettling compounder, will also join the star-studded lineup.
Following its nationwide theatrical release, the film will hit Prime Video for streaming to fans in India and over 240 countries eight weeks after its cinema premiere.
This film will be the latest addition to the acclaimed Mirzapur franchise, which originally kicked off in 2018, with the second season in 2020 and the latest third season airing in July 2024.

Excel Entertainment’s producers, Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar shared their excitement in a statement, calling this transition from series to film a “landmark milestone.”
They noted how the franchise has consistently captured the audience’s imagination with its intense storytelling and unforgettable characters like Kaleen Bhaiya, Guddu Bhaiya, and Munna Bhaiya.
“Bringing Mirzapur to the big screen will be a completely new experience, allowing audiences to fully immerse themselves in its world,” they said
