National Awards for films released in the year 2019 were announced today in New Delhi. Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s Chhichhore wins the best Hindi Film award while Kangana Ranaut won her fourth National Award – Best Actress for Manikarnika and Panga. Manoj Bajpayee wins National Award for Best Actor for his performance in Bhonsle and Dhanush for Asuran which also won Best Tamil Film.

Malayalam film Marakkar Arabikadalinte Simham wins Best Film along with the award for Best Special Effects. Vijay Sethupathi won Best Supporting Actor for Super Deluxe and Pallavi Joshi was awarded Best Supporting Actress for The Tashkent Files.

While India this year entry to Oscar Jallikattu won Best Cinematography. Sikkim was declared the most film-friendly state.

The long-delayed National Awards for films were given out by the Directorate of Film Festivals, which was not announced last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
