Navneet Nishan’s Delightful Experience with Aamir Khan in “Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke
The opportunity to work alongside the renowned Aamir Khan was a thrilling prospect for Navneet Nishan while she was cast in the romantic comedy “Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke.” Overwhelmed with nerves, she found herself on the set with not just Aamir Khan but also Juhi Chawla and Mahesh Bhatt, prominent figures in the industry. Being a relatively unknown actor at the time, she felt a sense of awe in the presence of these huge stars and the three talented child actors who were also part of the film. It was almost surreal for her to be a part of such a significant movie. The experience turned out to be delightful and exhilarating, marking a memorable early milestone in her career. Nishan’s appearance for the role required her to don a long-haired wig and blue lenses, a departure from her well-known look on the hit TV show Tara.
Apart from cherishing the delightful memories of her time working on the film, Navneet Nishan fondly recalls Aamir Khan’s mischievous yet endearing nature. She vividly remembers a cute scene that unfortunately didn’t make it into the final cut of the movie. In the scene, after their engagement, her character visits Aamir’s house to pick him up and playfully pecks him on the cheek. To everyone’s amusement, a lipstick mark was left on his cheek after the kiss. Being the playful person he is, Aamir insisted that the mark had to stay consistent throughout the day. So, he playfully made her kiss his cheek around 7-8 times during the day, much to her amusement. Navneet joyfully shared with her friends that she had been kissing Aamir Khan all day long, considering it a stroke of luck or a dream come true.
Navneet Nishan also shares her experience of filming another scene in the movie where the children playfully pelted her with eggs. Initially, they realized that eggs can hurt if thrown with force, so Aamir Khan took the precaution of cracking the eggs slightly to reduce the impact and avoid any harm. However, once the shooting began, the eggs kept coming relentlessly, and they were continuously hit by them. As a vegetarian, the strong smell of eggs was particularly unpleasant for her, and by the end of the scene, she was completely covered from head to toe in egg mess. Thankfully, she had the foresight to wear a wig that she could discard afterward; otherwise, her hair would have been plagued with the smell for days.
