
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has challenged the Bombay High Court’s order granting bail to actress Rhea Chakraborty in Supreme Court. The actress who was arrested over drug-related charges in actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case was granted bail on October 7, last year. Bombay High Court also directed her to deposit a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh.
However, the court has rejected the bail plea of her brother Showik Chakraborty and alleged drug peddler Abdel Basit Parihar, who was accused in the same case.
NCB booked Rhea, her brother and the other accused in September last year while Investigation the drugs angle related to the Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case.
The High Court had directed Rhea Chakraborty and two others to deposit their passports with the NCB and not to leave the country without the permission of the special NDPS court while granting the bail.
The court also asked Rhea to visit the NCB office at 11 am on the first day of every month for next six months.
