Netflix has announced the cast of its upcoming drama film IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, which is based on the true story of the longest hijack in Indian history. The film is directed by Anubhav Sinha, who is known for his critically acclaimed films such as Article 15, Thappad, and Mulk.
The film features an ensemble cast of some of the finest actors in the industry, such as Pankaj Kapur, Vijay Varma, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Patralekha, Arvind Swamy, Naseeruddin Shah, Aditya Srivastava, Dia Mirza, Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, Amrita Puri, Anupam Tripathi, Pooja Gor, Kanwaljeet Singh, Sushant Singh, and Yashpal Sharma. The cast was revealed at an event and in a video posted by Netflix India on its social media platforms.

Plot Of IC 814 Based On True Incidence
The film narrates the harrowing ordeal of 188 passengers who were stranded inside a plane for seven days, as it was hijacked by terrorists and taken to different locations, including Kandahar in Afghanistan. The film explores the challenges faced by the passengers, the crew, the negotiators, and the government officials, as they tried to resolve the crisis and bring the hostages back safely. The film also sheds light on the political and diplomatic implications of the hijack, which had a lasting impact on the relations between India and Pakistan.
IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack is a story of resilience, mayhem, skill and tact, based on true events that shook the nation in 1999. The film is expected to release soon, only on Netflix.
