Akshay Kumar and Dharma Productions have set the internet on fire by teasing a major update for Kesari Chapter 2. This comes as the original Kesari marks six years since its release.
Akshay Kumar Teases BIG Reveal On Kesari Chapter 2
Akshay Kumar and Dharma Productions dropped a motion video today, hinting at a sequel. The video highlights the bravery of the 21 Sikh soldiers who fought against thousands of Afghan invaders. It ends with a powerful message: “History wrote one chapter, now we tell the next. The saffron rises again. New battle, same fire. Tomorrow.”
Sharing the post, Akshay and Dharma wrote, “Celebrating 6 years of Kesari. Celebrating the spirit of Kesari. Celebrating a new chapter that begins…soon!” The cryptic tease has left fans buzzing with excitement.
Karan Johar’s Cryptic Post
Just a day before the teaser, Karan Johar took to Instagram with a heartfelt note. He reflected on his journey as a producer and his commitment to launching new talent in Bollywood.
“When I started producing films in 2003 with Kal Ho Naa Ho, my goal was to support filmmakers and storytellers. Some projects worked, some didn’t, but the intent was always to create something meaningful,” he shared.
He proudly revealed that Dharma’s next film will introduce its 24th new director. The filmmaker added, “90% of them are outsiders.”
Johar said that he rarely shares personal notes before a film’s release, but he made an exception this time. He revealed that this project has been in the making for four years, overcoming multiple hurdles, including pandemic delays. Despite the challenges, he expressed confidence in the film and called it one of Dharma’s proudest projects.
What Is Kesari Chapter 2 About?
Rumours of a Kesari sequel have been swirling for months. Some reports suggested that Dharma’s already-in-production courtroom drama starring Akshay Kumar, R. Madhavan, and Ananya Panday has been rebranded as Kesari Chapter 2.
Reports indicate the film is based on C. Sankaran Nair’s legal battle against the British Empire in the 1920s. Inspired by the book The Case That Shook the Empire by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat, the film will explore a crucial chapter of India’s freedom struggle.
While details remain under wraps, it would be interesting to see what they have in store as the announcement comes tomorrow.
