Shriya Pilgaonkar, an actor, made her Hindi cinema debut in 2016 with the movie Fan, in which she starred alongside Shah Rukh Khan. But, she had her first encounter with SRK years earlier, when she was working with filmmaker Megha Ramaswamy on a short film. Shriya received a confidence boost when Shah Rukh called her as ‘very gorgeous’ on their first encounter.
In an Interview with Mid-day, Shriya felt nostalgic and recalled her first meeting with Shah Rukh. She said, “I met Shah Rukh Khan while I was assisting Megha Ramaswamy on a short film and we were at YRF. She knows Shah Rukh and he was there. So I told her that I would love to meet Shah Rukh and she said, ‘oh come’. I went with her and she introduced me to him. He shook hands with me and said, Mahshallah, so beautiful!”
Shriya told Mid-Day that the day she met King Khan was really precious for her. She said, “I died. I was like Shah Rukh has said I am beautiful, so I am beautiful. My confidence was on another level. I was so charmed.”
Meanwhile, With the popular web series ‘Guilty Minds’ and ‘Mirzapur’, Shriya has gained a huge fan base on the OTT platform. The actress believes she has now arrived at a point where she can choose from a variety of roles after years of struggle.
Shriya also remembered how she got a role in ‘Fan’. She said, “I was constantly auditioning at YRF for different roles. I was also giving cues to the male actors. So, it was one of those tapes which were not meant for me, where I was relaxed, that was the tape that Adi sir and Manish Sharma liked. I remember Shanoo calling me late at night and I couldn’t believe what she told me.”
After receiving the news, Shriya excitedly went up to her parents’ told them, “They are asking me to be a part of a film where I am playing Shah Rukh Khan’s love interest.”
Meanwhile, Shriya Pilgaonkar was recently seen in an outstanding role in the Bhuvan Bam-led series ‘Taaza Khabar’. She is currently working on ‘Ishq-e-Nadaan’ and ‘Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai’.
