The whole nation was rooting for King Khan’s ‘Pathaan’ long before the film’s release, including filmmaker Karan Johar. And now, following the film’s release and massive box office success, the director-producer KJo has smashed all the false preconceived notions about the Bollywood Industry.
On Saturday, Karan Johar wrote about the ‘myths’ that Bollywood ‘promotes’ or ‘believes’ in, and how ‘Pathaan’ has knocked them out. The director took to Instagram and posted a ‘Pathaan’ poster and wrote, “Nothing matters more than a great film,” The mega-blockbuster success demonstrates that excessive promotion, fear of trolling, boycott threats, and just about all the myths that we as an industry propagate or believe in are rendered obsolete by a film like Pathaan.”
KJo went on to say that all it takes to make a film a success is ‘conviction’ and a good trailer. “Old school conviction and a kick ass trailer is what we all need!” he continued. I’m so happy for Adi, Sid bhai, Bhaijaan, John, and DP! I’m rooting for you until we reach that magical number!!!!”
