It’s been three years since Chhorii hit the screens, and Nushrratt Bharuccha is celebrating in style. The horror film, which told the chilling story of a pregnant woman trapped in a farmhouse with a dark past, has garnered significant attention since its release.
Today, November 27, Nushrratt took to Instagram to mark the milestone and shared the exciting news with her fans – Chhorii 2 is ‘coming soon’.
Directed by Vishal Furia, Chhorii told the gripping tale of Sakshi (played by Nushrratt), a woman caught in a tense situation with her abusive husband. After an altercation, they seek refuge in a remote sugarcane farmhouse, only to discover that it holds a horrifying secret. As the original film celebrates its third anniversary, Nushrratt is keeping the excitement alive by teasing the upcoming sequel.

In her Instagram post, she wrote, “Celebrating 3 Years of Chhori with a lil sneak peek from Chhori 2 👣#Chhori2 Coming soon.”
Along with the caption, she posted intriguing glimpses of the sequel, including posters that have sparked massive excitement online.
Fans wasted no time & reacted with excitement. One wrote, “Can’t waitttt.” Another added, “Mast movie.” A third user commented, “Awesome work.” Others also expressed their enthusiasm for the sequel.
For Chhorii 2, Nushrratt will share the screen with Soha Ali Khan for the first time. The collaboration has already generated buzz, as fans eagerly await to see the two actresses together in this gripping sequel.
About The 1st Instalment
The plot of Chhorii focused on Nushrratt’s character, Sakshi, an eight-month pregnant woman running a children’s NGO. When her husband, Hemant, violently assaults her over a debt, they decide to flee and hide in a remote village. Little do they know, the farmhouse they’ve chosen to shelter in is steeped in a gruesome and violent history. As they struggle to survive, Sakshi must confront the terrifying past that haunts the land.
Though the first film Chhorii was well-received for its message about women’s safety and empowerment, some critics felt it could have delivered the impact with a tighter execution.
Despite this, the film impressed with its haunting atmosphere, clever jump scares, strong performances from the female leads, and the use of an eerie background score. The film’s visuals and cinematography were also applauded, even if the final moments of the story fell a little flat for some.
