The buzz around O Romeo may be understated at present, but the creative forces behind the film have quietly assembled a powerhouse lineup. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj, the film marks his much anticipated reunion with Shahid Kapoor. Their previous collaborations including Kaminey, Haider and Rangoon have set high expectations for this performance driven narrative.
The ensemble of O Romeo was already strengthened by the inclusion of Triptii Dimri and the legendary Nana Patekar, whose presence brings both freshness and gravitas to the project. Now the film will also feature an impressive supporting cast including Vikrant Massey, Tamannaah Bhatia and Disha Patani, among others. The film went on floors on January 6, 2025. Mustafa Stationwala, who created the sets of Laal Singh Chaddha, Hindi Medium, and Airlift, is the production designer on this project. Sources reveal that Sajid Nadiadwala has gone all out in ensuring that the set is grand but at the same time authentic to the storyline. He and director Vishal Bhardwaj have also meticulously worked on the scheduling of the film.
The Bhardwaj Kapoor Magic Returns
Shahid Kapoor has delivered some of his most acclaimed performances under Vishal Bhardwaj’s distinctive and layered direction. Their collaboration chemistry is well documented in the industry. Kaminey showcased Shahid in a double role with raw intensity. Haider gave him a National Award worthy performance in the adaptation of Hamlet. Even Rangoon, despite mixed box office response, featured strong performances from the entire cast.
Now their fourth collaboration O Romeo promises to blend Bhardwaj’s signature intrigue with Shahid’s intensity. The addition of talented actors like Vikrant Massey, Tamannaah Bhatia and Disha Patani adds scale, variety and serious screen presence to the narrative. Trade analysts believe this combination could result in one of the most interesting big screen bets of 2026.
