Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi was all set to release on April 30. Staring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, the film which is much delayed may get postponed once again.

According to the reports and looking at the present scenario with night curfew in place and second lockdown possibilities in major cities, the makers are now thinking once again about the release.

Since the everyday growing COVID-19 cases, the Maharashtra government is already considering implementing a lockdown starting from the first week of April. Since Maharashtra is a major market for Hindi movies. If lockdown happens then it will affect all releases in the coming weeks.

Talking about the same, a source was quoted by the media as saying, “With the suspension of night shows due to the night curfews in cities like Mumbai and an atmosphere of uncertainty, it’s a huge risk for a big-budget film to release in theatres at this point. Given people’s safety concerns, the film is unlikely to release on April 30.”

Meanwhile, it has also been reported that the film will hit the OTT platform four weeks after the theatrical release. The makers are now considering a couple of OTT options. The source added, “The film can either opt for a direct OTT release, simultaneous theatrical & OTT release or OTT release in 14 days after theatrical release.”

While nothing is officially confirmed by the team. But since Rohit Shetty has never been in favour of OTT release, it seems the film seems is stuck in a major dilemma.

As per the reports other releases like 83 which was slated to release on June 4 and Amitabh Bachchan’s Chehre which was set to release on April 9 in theatres, have been pushed indefinitely due to the pandemic.
