The song, composed by Vishal and Sheykhar and sung by Shilpa Rao, Caralisa Monteiro, Vishal and Sheykhar, has become one of the most popular and successful songs in Bollywood history.
Besharam Rang was the first song featuring Shah Rukh Khan in four years, after his hiatus from films. The song showcased his electric chemistry with Deepika Padukone, who played his love interest and fellow spy in the film.

The song takes chemistry between SRK and Deepika to next level as they dance and flirt with each other. About the pairing, Siddharth said, “His chemistry with Deepika in the song is infectious. They are considered one of the all-time biggest on-screen jodis in the history of Hindi cinema, given their massive blockbusters, and this song presents them to their fans and audiences in a way that they have never seen before on screen.”
In an interview, Shilpa Rao stated that the “chemistry” between Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan in the song was “fabulous” and contributed to its popularity. She added that Deepika was “celebrating herself” – embracing both ‘the good, the bad and flawless’.
The song was shot in Spain, specifically in Mallorca, where Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone showed off their stunning looks and dance moves. The song has beautifully captured some serene locations in Spain. The song was loved for its stunning visuals and choreography by Vaibhavi Merchant.

The song faced controversy because Deepika wore a saffron bikini in the song, which some people claimed was disrespectful to the Hindu culture and the bhagwa color. Some politicians and activists from Madhya Pradesh demanded that the song be banned or edited, and threatened to not allow the release of the film in the state.
Despite the controversy it faced, the song had become an instant hit on YouTube. The song crossed 100 million views on YouTube in just 9 days and 23 hours, and all platforms in 5 days, becoming the fastest Bollywood song to achieve this feat. As of today, the song has garnered over 549 million views and 4.4 million likes on YouTube, making it one of the most viewed and liked Bollywood songs ever.
The song also boosted the hype and anticipation for the film and people flocked in large crowds to watch the song on big screen. The film eventually many box office records and became first Hindi film to cross 1000-crore milestone at global box office. The song Besharam Rang has played a key role in creating a buzz for the film and attracting the audience to the theaters.
